At Knotty But Nice, every grain tells a story and so do we...
Knotty But Nice started the way most good things do, with a project for home, a bit of spare time and a lifetime of knowing how things should be made. What began as a personal passion for building outdoor spaces quickly caught the attention of friends, family and neighbours. Their encouragement turned a hobby into a business, and in 2024 Knotty But Nice was born.
From handmade garden furniture to custom-designed verandas, decking and outdoor play spaces, we craft everything with a deep respect for the materials. We mainly use slow-grown, high-grade Scandinavian redwood, selected for its characterful grain, knotted finish and the way it ages beautifully over time. Every piece is hand-finished, because that's the only way to get the quality and individuality that a mass-produced process simply can't deliver.
We're proudly based in Upton Upon Severn. We serve homes across Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, and Herefordshire and we're always happy to go further for the right project.
We're proud of every project we take on and we'd love to hear about yours, so why not get in touch?
Andy started Knotty But Nice in 2024 as a response to the dramatic changes in his life and as an opportunity to reconnect with his passion for creating beautiful products from sustainable materials. With a lifetime background of manufacturing, engineering and design, he has worked all over the world finding solutions and solving problems.
Keeping it in the family, Scooby is Andy's son and is a great addition to the team, utilising his background of media, planning and design. He is extremely adaptable and capable plus a customer favourite, possessing an irresistibly lighthearted, warm and friendly attitude
